Friday :D
Today was an exceptionally wonderful day. This week has been kind of hard (not in a difficult way, but in a stressful, ihavesomuchtodohalp way), but today makes it all worth it. If all Fridays were like today, I’d definitely become one of those people who live for the weekend.
After English (meh) and Psychology (bleh) were over and I took a 45-minute nap, I went to eat in the Brittain dining hall. They had this nifty spin-the-wheel game where you could win free stuff like t-shirts and bags and gift cards to the dining hall. I got in line to play, and when my turn came the wheel fell on a $25 gift card for the dining room. It wouldn’t do many any good, because I have the unlimited meal plan, but I figured that it’d be a good way to make someone else happy. But I didn’t win. All the questions questions about Georgia Tech’s impact on the environment and stuff like that. But hey, it was fun just spinning the wheel.
After eating, I went to work. I think I have one of the best jobs ever. It’s pretty similar to what I did back at home, actually—a lot of administrative computer work with a lot of designing sprinkled here and there. I like it. Today, though, I didn’t do any computer related work. My job was to organize a room with a bunch of tables and chairs. I had to rearrange the room so that it looked like a round table of sorts. As boring as that sounds, I had a lot of fun doing it. And I’m still not sure why it fascinated me so much.
After work, and Calculus, and work again, and computer science, I went to a cookout. The cookout was actually a teensy bit on the lame side. It was a joint cookout between the anime club and Entertainment Software Producers. (I’m a part of ESP, and it’s pretty spectacular.) They seemed to run out of food pretty quickly. I had to eat a hamburger using hot dog buns. And it was kind of pointless and boring. But I got free food out of it, so yay.
After the cookout (actually I left the cookout early for this), I got to go to a Q&A meeting with two of the guys from Engadget, one of the leading technology blogs on the intarwebs. It was really, really cool to be in the same room with famous people and ask them questions. There was also some guys from a company called Zagg there, and they gave me free swag. I got some $60 earbuds (that are pink and kind of suck in my opinion) and a $25 gift card for their store. All of this made me very :D.
And then, five of my friends and I went to see the movie 9. It was quite disappointing. The visuals were wonderful, but the plot was quite weak and full of holes, and the ending was horrible. But hey, at least it was very, very pretty. Anyway, while we were out we also went to Target. While we were there, I needed to use the bathroom. I saw that they had a family bathroom, and figured I’d use it just for kicks, but when I opened it there was a woman in there and we stared at each other awkwardly for a good three seconds before we both stammered and fidgeted around and I left. (She wasn’t using it, she was just in there….holding baby clothes.)
So yeah. That’s most of my day.
